People Who Won’t Shut Up About Ice Baths

Your toes are frozen and so is the conversation.

People Who Won’t Shut Up About Ice Baths

You could be talking about taxes, Tupperware, or The Godfather Part II, and somehow they’ll manage to bring up their “morning plunge.” Ice bath people don’t just chill — they evangelize, one freezing anecdote at a time.

1. They say “Did I tell you about my cold plunge routine?” You say yes. They tell you again.

2. They post videos of themselves shirtless in a barrel. Every day. With captions like “Discomfort is growth.”

3. Their fridge has more room for ice bags than food.

4. They call it a “nervous system reset” like they’re rebooting a robot.

5. They quote Wim Hof more than their therapist.

6. They offer to “walk you through your first dunk” like it’s a spiritual baptism.

7. They wear shorts in winter “because adaptation.” No one asked.

8. They time their submersion like it’s an Olympic event.

9. They say things like “pain is information” while their lips turn blue.

10. They think sitting in a bucket of ice makes them a Navy SEAL.

11. They suggest it cures everything from burnout to seasonal allergies. Still sneezing, though.

12. Their idea of bonding? Forcing you into a trash can full of ice in their backyard.

13. They start every meeting with “Have you cold plunged today?” It’s 9 a.m. on Zoom.

14. They bring their own thermometer to hotels “just in case.”

15. They say “it’s not cold, it’s invigorating.” Your frozen toes beg to differ.
